A Julia sketch, because sometimes I need to paint instead of write

Not much to write about this week, but I wanted to share a sketch I spent most of this weekend painting, concept art of the main protagonist of Farther Than Elysium, Julia del Razur.

Now, there are certain details off, that probably only matter to a nerd like me–her armor is a bit wrong, because I describe her as having the lighter armor of cavalry circa late 16th-early 17th century cavalary a la Poland and the Ottomans, rather than a full set of plate more suited to the 13th or 14th century. Of course, why is there 17th century armor in a fantasy khalifate very loosely based on Ummayad Spain in the 10th century if it had a baby with the Ottoman empire in the 17th century and most of western Europe never existed?

Because this is a work of fiction, and I do what I want. 😀

Anyway, have a good week — I’ll probably be doing more of these illustrations going forward.
